Matthew's character in "The Producers" is called Leopold Bloom, and at one point he asks, "When will it be Bloomsday?" The line refers to James Joyce's novel "Ulysses," whose hero is also called Leopold Bloom. Fans of the book - which unfolds during the course of one day, June 16 - celebrate the date as "Bloomsday."
